Part II - Dr. Altenburger explains why health care costs are expensive, why we have a shortage of doctors, why the medicare system results in expensive cost shifting, and the mismanagement of tort issues exascerbates problems.  He says that nothing in the current bill will take care of health care costs.   The 47 Million "uninsured" is a bogus number, 10 million non-us, 10 million make over 75,000 per year and don't necessarily want health 'insurance' by choice.  10 million already qualify but don't need it, but know they can get it.  15-17 million are really in the "need" catagory.

Part III  -  http://www.faithfreedoms.org/audio/podcasts/wifl7aug2009carmichael3.mp3 Dr. Altenburger agrees when caller says government take-over of health care will bankrupt the country, the health care industry is out of control because of fraud.  Dr. Altenburger disagrees that an all seeing government is going to fix it and explains how a free-market health care industry will solve many of the problems that have been created by government control of pricing.

Part IV - http://www.faithfreedoms.org/audio/podcasts/wifl7aug2009carmichael4.mp3 David says it looks like the health care bill is merely mechanism for funding stream and control.  Dr. Altenburger indicates that there is a great danger that Congress can make things worse with their one size fits all solution.  Florida and other states are making inroads to fixing some of the problems.  Each state ought to be considered a laboratory to see what works in different situations and varied needs of the different states.  Florida keenly checking out medicare problems, accountability and transparency, replenishment of qualified medical practitioners.   Governments are not in charge of dentistry or veterinarians services, and thus high quality dentistry and venterinary services in america are readily available.

Part V - http://www.faithfreedoms.org/audio/podcasts/wifl7aug2009carmichael5.mp3 Dr. Karl Altenburger compares British and Canadian health care programs with the current system in America.  Dogs fare better than people in Canada.  Dr. Altenburger parts company with the callers who say that it is appropriate for government to take control of everybody's health care, explaining that it is important to make sure the patient is the one making decisions about their own health care.  Creative solutions such as Co-Ops ought to be developed. We would all benefit by the increase of competition  in contrast with the federal and state governments imposing limits.  Federal prohibitions against private contracts with physicians is already a grave problem in the medicare program.

Part VI - http://www.faithfreedoms.org/audio/podcasts/wifl7aug2009carmichael6.mp3  Dr. Karl Atlenburger gives example of freemarket incentives to obtain reasonable medical care at the best reasonable, freemarket, cost.  He summarizes those things that really are the significant issues that need to be address with health care issues.
